Trauma Therapy

Helping you to heal and reclaim your life.

Online Therapy in Washington State, Utah & Florida

You often feel like you’re surviving, not thriving.

Past experiences resurface, even when you think things are going ok.

Maybe you feel on edge most of the time, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Or maybe you feel numb like you are just going through the motions.  Past experiences resurface, even though you thought you got past it. Sleep is elusive, and even when you get it you’re still exhausted.  You struggle to be present and your relationships are suffering.  You doubt yourself and trust is scarce.  The list of things you avoid continues to grow, while the list of things you enjoy dwindles.

You’re ready to let go of old patterns that weigh you down and build new ones that lift you up.

Unspoken needs, unprocessed emotions, and unacknowledged betrayals weigh more than any to-do list.

Trauma therapy can help you…

How it works

Trauma happens when our experience overwhelms our capacity to cope and process.

True growth comes with facing hard moments, not avoiding them.

Trauma therapy will help you to reconnect with your body, mind, and soul.  You will learn to recognize your needs and trust your intuition.  Instead of feeling stuck in the same patterns, you will feel more in control and build capacity to tolerate distress.  We will explore the deep rooted beliefs and narratives that keep you stuck and prevent you from living the life you want.

Sometimes we don’t have the language to describe what is going on.  This can occur when memories are pre-verbal or our system is overloaded in survival mode and doesn’t have time to make meaning.  The unconscious part of our brain stores these memories without words, instead it uses feelings and sensations.  When they resurface, we are overwhelmed by raw emotions and sensations in our body.  We can’t make sense of them, so we avoid them.

My approach

We’ll focus on connecting you with your innate healing abilities to help the unconscious finish telling its story and finally be at peace.   Healing happens not by eliminating parts of yourself, but by creating space for all aspects of your experience to be acknowledged and integrated. This includes recognizing that trauma symptoms often began as adaptations that helped you survive challenging circumstances. I integrate multiple therapeutic techniques including

  • Brainspotting to process and integrate trauma at a neurobiological level, work through emotional material that's difficult to verbalize, reduce flashbacks and intrusive memories, and release stored emotional patterns.

  • Accelerated Resourcing to strengthen internal resources and reduce the emotional charge.

  • Somatic therapies to develop greater awareness of physical symptoms, release trapped survival energy from incomplete trauma responses, and restore your nervous system's natural resilience

  • Parts work to connect with compassion to understand how different aspects of your personality hinder or serve you.

  • Safe and Sound Protocol to reduce nervous system reactivity, create a foundation for other therapeutic work and enhance capacity for social connection.

My goal is to help you navigate your internal landscape more effectively based on who you are, not to fundamentally change you or force you into strategies that don't align with your natural tendencies. My approach is flexible and responsive to your needs, recognizing that trauma healing isn't linear. Some sessions might focus more on building resources and stability, while others may involve deeper processing of traumatic memories. Throughout the process, you remain in control of the pace and focus of our work together.

How we’ll work together

We’ll start with a complimentary 30-minute video consultation.  Taking the first step can be scary and I want you to feel like you’re with the right person to guide you on this journey.  If we decide to work together, we’ll have an in-depth intake session. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about you and your goals, answer any questions you have, and co-create a plan to track your progress throughout our work together.

You choose the format that works best for you:

  • If you prefer to make progress steadily over time, we can meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for 50-minute sessions.

  • For accelerated results, concentrated therapy in the form of intensives may be a good fit for you. Like a large dose of therapy at once, you can experience rapid relief and healing with a relatively small time investment. 1- and 2-day options available. Click here to learn more.

Why I do this work

Trauma has ruled your life for too long

I believe you deserve to feel like yourself, to reconnect with who you are truly meant to be.

Happiness is not about adding more to your life.  It's about unwinding the beliefs, patterns and behaviors that block your natural state of joy and presence.

Frequently asked questions

  • My approach integrates neurobiological and somatic modalities that work directly with the body and nervous system, rather than focusing exclusively on cognitive understanding. This integration allows us to address aspects of trauma that may not be accessible through talking alone, creating pathways for deeper healing.

  • No, detailed verbal recounting of traumatic experiences is not necessary for healing. The trauma-focused treatments I use often allow for processing traumatic memories without explicitly discussing the content. We'll work at a pace that feels manageable for you, focusing on building resources and capacity before engaging with more challenging material.

  • The duration varies depending on factors such as the complexity of trauma history, time span since the trauma, current life stressors, available support systems, and individual healing pace. Some clients experience meaningful shifts within a few weeks, while others benefit from longer-term work. We'll regularly assess your progress and adjust our approach accordingly.

  • Yes, absolutely. The impacts of trauma can persist long after the traumatic event occurred, and healing is possible regardless of when the trauma happened. The nervous system has remarkable capacity for healing at any age and stage of life.

  • Research and clinical experience have shown that online therapy can be highly effective for trauma work. The modalities I use adapt well to the online format, and many clients find that the comfort and safety of their own environment actually enhances their ability to engage in therapeutic work.
