Flexible scheduling and convenient video services

No matter where you live in Florida, Utah or Washington state, therapy can come to you.

You have a life you are trying to keep in balance and finding time for therapy can be hard to do.  Online therapy is a great option for those who:

  • Live in remote areas or feel more comfortable at home

  • Want to avoid the stress of heavy or unpredictable traffic

  • Struggle with mobility issues that make commuting difficult

  • Seek to practice regulation in your own environment

  • Travel frequently or have challenging schedules

  • Have limited childcare options

Who I Work With

I provide mental health treatment for adults experiencing:

  • Trauma - whether from single incidents or complex childhood experiences

  • Anxiety disorders - including persistent worry, panic, and social anxiety

  • Depression - that affects your quality of life and engagement with the world

  • Overwhelm and nervous system dysregulation - leaving you feeling constantly on edge

  • Neurological conditions - including recovery from strokes and traumatic brain injuries (TBIs)

What Sets My Approach Apart

Unlike traditional talk therapy alone, my approach recognizes that many mental health issues are rooted in how our bodies and nervous systems respond to stress and trauma. I focus on connecting you with your innate abilities, recognizing limitations as what keeps you stuck, and building on what is already working for you.

My therapeutic approach is not about changing you or overcoming obstacles, but helping you learn to read the landscape better and navigate based on who you are. This personalized approach creates lasting change by addressing the root causes of your challenges rather than just managing symptoms.

Specialized Therapeutic Modalities

Brainspotting - harnesses your brain's natural ability to heal itself, often leading to profound insights and relief that cognitive approaches alone may not achieve.

Somatic Therapies - connect with and learn to interpret bodily sensations to gently release trapped energy from traumatic experiences, helping to restore balance to your nervous system

Parts work - create space for parts of you that experience conflicting thoughts and emotions, and connect with compassion and greater awareness to integrate them and feel whole .

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) - an auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. Based on Polyvagal Theory, SSP uses specially-filtered music to stimulate the vagus nerve and help regulate the nervous system.

Accelerated Resourcing - identifying and strengthening internal resources towards addressing traumatic material.

How We’ll Work Together

We’ll start with a complimentary 30-minute video consultation.  Taking the first step can be scary and I want you to feel like you’re with the right person to guide you on this journey.  If we decide to work together, we’ll have an in-depth intake session. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about you and your goals, answer any questions you have, and co-create a plan to track your progress throughout our work together.

You choose the format that works best for you:

  • If you prefer to make progress steadily over time, we can meet on a weekly or bi-weekly basis for 50-minute sessions.

  • For accelerated results, concentrated therapy in the form of intensives may be a good fit for you. Like a large dose of therapy at once, you can experience rapid relief and healing with a relatively small time investment. 1- and 2-day options available. Click here to learn more.

Take the Next Step

Schedule a Consultation

The best way to determine if we're a good fit is through a free 30-minute consultation. This gives us both an opportunity to determine if we're likely to work well together before committing to the therapeutic process.During this conversation, we can discuss:

  • What brings you to therapy at this time

  • Your goals and expectations for the therapeutic process

  • How my approach might address your specific mental health concerns

  • Any questions you might have about working together

What to Consider Before Starting

As you prepare to begin therapy, reflect on:

  • What specific challenges bring you to therapy at this time

  • What you've tried in the past to address these issues

  • What a successful outcome would look like for you

  • Any questions or concerns you have about the therapeutic process

  • My approach differs from traditional talk therapy by incorporating somatic (body-based) techniques that address how trauma and stress are stored in the nervous system. While traditional therapy focuses primarily on thoughts and behaviors, my trauma-informed approach recognizes that thoughts and behaviors are only part of the picture and lasting change requires working with the body's natural healing mechanisms.

  • Sessions take place via a HIPAA-secure platform.  Prior to your appointment, a private link will be sent to your email. At the scheduled time, simply click the link to enter our virtual therapy room. Sessions are 50 minutes and available weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly according to your needs and goals.  Online therapy is all about offering you the best support possible in the way that’s most convenient for you.

  • All you need for online therapy sessions is a private space, a device with access to a camera and microphone, and a strong wifi connection. A laptop with a webcam or a cell phone both work well. And if you are able to stream Netflix (or similar services) without issues, then your internet will be able to handle video therapy sessions. Headphones can also help reduce audio interference and create a more connected experience.

  • It is understandable to wonder if online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy. Are you losing out on any benefits this way? Fortunately, studies show that you’re not: online counseling is equally as effective as face-to-face counseling in treating depression, panic disorders, and anxiety disorders (link).

In my experience, many clients have found online counseling even more comfortable than traditional in-person therapy. Since sessions happen in a familiar environment, it’s often easier to open up and feel at ease.

If you’re still not sure if online therapy is right for you, schedule a free consultation with me and we can discuss if this format can help meet your needs.

Note: Online counseling is not appropriate for those actively in crisis. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call the suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.

  • You can schedule a free 30-minute consultation directly on my booking calendar. During this consultation, we'll discuss your needs and goals and determine if my approach is a good fit for your situation.  It’s important that you feel comfortable with your counselor, and I’ll help you decide if I’m the right fit for you.
