Move from worry to connection and confidence

You’re stuck in a never ending loop of “what ifs?”

You feel run down, overwhelmed, exhausted, and irritable.

Anxiety therapy can help when your mind jumps around and is never calm. You worry about what will go wrong and expend your energy trying to anticipate and prepare for what comes next. You never feel fully prepared, and instead it feels like you're missing out on the here and now.

Anxiety therapy addresses the patterns that lead you to neglect basic needs like taking that bathroom break or eating lunch because there's one more thing that has to get done. Decisions feel hard because you're overwhelmed, uncertain, and overthinking the consequences. Anxiety treatment at Dr. Kwan's practice often integrates Brainspotting and nervous system regulation therapy to address both the patterns and the physiological state driving them.

You’re ready to slow down, but life doesn’t.

How it works

Slow down and say goodbye to fear and urgency.

Anxiety therapy will help you to be more in touch with your needs and recognize the source of the distress.  Together we will improve your confidence, self-esteem and awareness of your needs so that you can feel grounded and present.  We’ll explore the root of your anxiety and the patterns that you can’t break free from.  You’ll learn healthier ways to communicate, how to set and hold boundaries and tools to reinforce your new found calm.

Our brain has a hard time differentiating between real and perceived danger.  When we feel anxious, our sense of safety is threatened and we go into fight or flight to protect ourselves.  My therapeutic approach focuses on connecting you with your innate abilities while creating a deeper understanding of your unique anxiety patterns, and building personalized tools for managing them effectively.  I integrate multiple therapeutic techniques including:

  • Brainspotting to process anxiety and trauma at a neurobiological level, work through emotional material that's difficult to verbalize and release stored emotional patterns.

  • Accelerated Resourcing to provide more guidance and strengthen internal resources.

  • Somatic therapies to develop greater awareness of physical symptoms, release stored tension in your body and regulate your nervous system more effectively.

  • Parts work to recognize and understand how different aspects of your personality hinder or serve you.

My goal is to help you navigate your internal landscape more effectively based on who you are, not to fundamentally change you or force you into strategies that don't align with your natural tendencies.

How We’ll Work Together

We’ll start with a complimentary 30-minute video consultation.  Taking the first step can be scary and I want you to feel like you’re with the right person to guide you on this journey.  If we decide to work together, we’ll have an in-depth intake session. This will give me an opportunity to learn more about you and your goals, answer any questions you have, and co-create a plan to track your progress throughout our work together.
